Sunday Times Magazine

We were featured in last Sundays' Sunday Times Magazine, written by a journalist travelling from London to the Peak District. He photographed our Stables café that serves guests in the Peak District Spa B & B rooms (this is where they have breakfast), it also serves clients from Rivendale and non-residents.

There is a good deal in the cafe for non-residents, who can park all day for free - provided they spend £4 or more in the café - this is the same daily charge levied by the local authority for their car park half a mile down the road, but which has NO toilets, tarmac, security or lighting. So at the Stables café, for the same money, they get all that - plus two freshly ground and brewed Lavazza Lattes! We also offer a free circular walk map, showing circular walks from the car park of varying lengths - there are some spectacular walks down into Dove Dale, Mill Dale etc as well as cycle rides on the Tissington Trail just 100 metres away. The café is licensed and sells wine, bottled beers, ciders etc - (but non-residents can only order alcohol with food).

Halloween Party

A great night was had by all in our pub The Prancing Pony, as people in Peak District Spa's bedroom suites joined guests in the pine lodges, Yurts, Camping Pods and touring caravans to celebrate Halloween.

Most came in some amazing costumes that were so good, one of the younger children required some reassurance. That given, the youngsters also rose to the occasion with some spectacular small witches, vampires and zombies dancing into the night until overcome by exhaustion and the thought of a comfortable bed, after which their older counterparts had the chance of a more sedate boogie and a quieter drink!

This was our busiest Halloween ever, boosted by the great weather and the increasing awareness of the variety of great things there are to do in the Peak District - inside and out - even in Autumn and Winter.
